After all going up and down the flight of stairs to the cellar is so very tedious! I now use UltraVNC to control the "Server in the Cellar" from the computer upstairs. The remote control screen on the client is very slow, but that may be my internet connection. Because I use firewalls on my machines I found I had to use the callback function to make it work properly. It has good reviews in many download sites. This may be that I've already got a HTTP server already running on this computer though. I just couldn?t get this to work at all, even after adjusting the remote controlled computer file sharing. Remote Home - This is FTP server software. I had trouble getting NR_server working but NR_server2 worked first time. On the other machine just start the client software. On the machine you want to remotely control just open the zip file and start one of the servers. Programs without links are no long accessible (2022). When you use this software ensure you remember to set the passwords as these programs can give full control to anyone who needs it. I found the following products and installed them on the "Server in the Cellar". ![]() I've used PCAnywhere by Symantec before but I wondered if there was a cheaper (or free) solution. I was talking to an accountant, it seems she had a client a couple of hours drive away and asked me if there was a way for me to have access to the client's files and do the accounts from home.
